Entries in this category include any hand-cut parquet pattern, medallion, marquetry, or intarsia inlay.

WHAT MAKES THIS FLOOR UNIQUE:
This floor contains 22 species of wood and brass inlays, and was installed in a private residence in Belgium.

The existing glazed ceramic tiles were first treated with hydrochloric acid, and then a layer of adhesive was applied and the mosaic oak subfloor was glued down. The ā€œMarquetterie Rosas,ā€ which was prepared by Filip Redant at his workplace and all sawn by hand, was then glued and nailed on top. All special types of wood were from Redantā€™s old stock.

All pieces are solid wood with a thickness of 9 mm at subfloor; the oak mosaic thickness is 8 mm.
