The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) hosted and participated in a pavilion at the inaugural DOMOTEX USA which took place Feb. 28 – March 2, 2019, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
The pavilion was designated specifically for manufacturers and suppliers of wood flooring related products at the show. The following members exhibited along with the NWFA in booth 1323: Aacer Flooring, American OEM, Middle Tennessee Lumber, and Powernail Company Inc.
The NWFA conducted two “Industry Insight” sessions:
- Color Trends in Hardwood Floors, which highlighted some of the historical trends around hardwood floors and provided a glimpse into upcoming processes and trends. In addition to discussing color, the session also covered textures, like wire brushing, and techniques, like water popping, as a way to create a unique, customized floor.
- Addressing the Labor Shortage, which took a look at the shortage of incoming labor the trades are facing, what it means for all segments of the wood flooring industry (including manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and installers), and some of the ways the wood flooring industry is taking on the issues.
In addition, there were two “Insider Talks” on Moisture Meter Use for Wood Flooring Pros andĀ Color and Finish Repairs for Wood Flooring.
DOMOTEX USA is a new annual flooring innovations industry trade show and conference. The event is the latest extension of the 30-year-old DOMOTEX, a showcase for floor coverings held annually in Hannover, Germany in January. DOMOTEX USA is focused on the needs of the residential floor covering industryās buyers and manufacturers. The trade show features product displays across soft and hard surfaces including area rugs, carpet, hardwood, laminate, resilient, as well as flooring technology.
