Schönox Announces Winners in Fifth-Annual Worst Subfloor Contest

The winners of the fifth Worst Subfloor Contest were announced at the HPS Schönox booth in Las Vegas as part of The International Surfaces Event (TISE). The trio of judges, including John McGrath, Greg Mercurio, and Robert Varden, said the process was challenging this year as so many projects were worth of the win.

“The competition was fierce this year,” said Mercurio. “We each saw the different ways the Schönox line of products can be used to manage the variety of issues an installer can encounter on the job. The proof is really in the before-andafter images.”

There were 132 entries in the 2018 contest, making it the largest in the history of the event. More than 340,000 square feet in projects are represented, and 93 installer companies and team participated.

“These numbers tell me this contest is a key feature in our industry,” said HPS Schönox Principal Thomas Trissl. “We had entries from all over the country and from a number of sectors, from healthcare to hospitality to historic homes. We look forward to this event every year.”
