MAPEI Corporation Advances Sustainability Goals

MAPEI Corporation has completed the installation of two new solar carports at its North American headquarters in Deerfield Beach, Florida, which the company says marks another significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable operations.

The installation includes two solar carports featuring 594 high-efficiency Solar 400W-DC photovoltaic modules that are supported by steel canopy structures. The system utilizes two inverters with a combined power rating of 237,600W-DC, converting solar-generated direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) for use throughout the facility.

In addition to generating renewable energy, the project includes four electric-vehicle (EV) charging stations, with infrastructure already in place to expand capacity to 12 charging stations as future demand increases.

Once fully operational, the solar array is expected to offset approximately 45 percent to 55 percent of the headquarters’ annual electricity consumption, producing nearly half of the energy that is required to power the Deerfield Beach facility each year.

“This investment reflects MAPEI’s long-term commitment to innovation, operational excellence and environmental responsibility,” said Luigi Di Geso, president and CEO of MAPEI North America. “As we continue to grow, we’re equally committed to reducing our environmental footprint through meaningful initiatives that benefit our employees, our customers and the communities we serve. This project demonstrates that sustainability and business performance can go hand in hand.”

The solar installation supports MAPEI’s broader sustainability strategy – which is guided by the company’s three principles: People, Planet, and Products – and reinforces its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions while increasing energy efficiency across its operations.

“Projects like this are an important part of our journey toward a more sustainable future,” said Brittany Storm, director of sustainability for MAPEI Corporation. “By generating clean, renewable energy on-site, we’re reducing our reliance on traditional energy sources while creating infrastructure that supports the transition to cleaner transportation. It’s another example of how we’re integrating sustainability into the way we operate every day.”

The company added that this project reflects MAPEI’s continued investment in responsible facility management and environmental performance.
