We are excited to spotlight these outstanding men and women whose career accomplishments have moved them to the forefront. Their professional track records have helped establish them as some of today’s brightest stars – before their 40th birthday.

1. Ethan Abrudeanu

Ethan Abrudeanu launched his own flooring business in Chicago with his brother in 2018 and, over the past seven years, has built a reputation for excellence while serving high-end, detail-oriented clients. In 2020, he collaborated with Archetypal Imagery and earned an NWFA Wood Floor of the Year award for Best in Marquetry/Inlay.
Now based in Louisville, Kentucky, Abrudeanu is growing his company independently, carving out a unique niche by bringing fresh, innovative ideas to the market and working closely with discerning customers and designers. He is deeply committed to using high-quality, U.S.-sourced hardwoods and is passionate about shifting the industry mindset away from cheap imports toward sustainably produced American products.
Abrudeanu and his wife recently raised thousands of dollars for their local community, helping fight poverty and transform it by empowering families and youth to succeed in education and achieve life-long self-sufficiency. They donated to Family Scholar House.
2. Allison Adams

As the office manager for Footprints Floors of Denver, Allison Adams serves as the operational backbone of one of the company’s largest and most high-performing territories. She oversees all scheduling, customer communication, field coordination, and local bookkeeping, bringing precision, structure, and financial clarity to a fast-paced environment. Her calm leadership, problem-solving mindset, and ability to manage competing priorities have made her a key force behind the territory’s consistent growth and success.
Adams has played a pivotal role in implementing process improvements that have increased efficiency, enhanced the customer experience, and elevated the internal systems that support crews and clients alike.
By serving on the PTA at her children’s school, volunteering regularly on campus, and coaching youth soccer at the local YMCA, Adams creates a meaningful impact in her community and models leadership and character beyond the workplace. Whether managing complex logistics or mentoring young athletes, she brings heart, discipline, and a standard of excellence to everything she does.
3. Demi Balasa

Demi Balasa joined Derr Flooring Co. in June 2022, beginning her career in the credit department. She represents the fifth generation of her family at Derr, as the granddaughter of former company president Chester Derr Jr. The flooring distribution company, established more than 100 years ago, now has seven warehouses across four states.
Balasa is currently transitioning into the role of claims manager and plays a key role in the distribution of rebates. She is a proud graduate of Lehigh University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Outside of work, Balasa is passionate about animal welfare. She actively helps raise money for the SPCA and volunteers her time assisting other local animal shelters. Her commitment to supporting rescue animals reflects her deep compassion and community spirit.
4. James Berault

James Berault began his career in the wood business more than a decade ago as head of product at Delta Millworks and is now director of sales for Vision Wood. In this role, he works closely with architects and designers to match clients with the correct flooring specifications for commercial spaces and residential projects. He values personal connections and the power of showing up, often visiting mills and manufacturers in person to better understand the processes behind the wood flooring he recommends.
He also has engaged with NWFA for advanced training, ultimately becoming an NWFA Certified Installation Professional and Certified Sales Advisor. This process has deepened his technical knowledge through hands-on learning and while building relationships within the NWFA network.
Berault recently founded Oak Street Flooring, an installation, sanding, and refinishing company that reflects his passion for craftsmanship and community. He also devotes time to the recovery community in New Orleans.
5. Fernando Candini

Fernando Candini has been with RippnFinish for nearly four years. There, he is the crew chief and is the team’s designated “I’ll figure it out” guy. No matter what situation is thrown at Candini, they say he can work his magic and make it happen. No job is too complex or snag too big for him. He never leaves his coworkers hanging and is their right-hand man. He is described as a blessing to the company, always serving as a reliable, motivated, and excellent craftsman to take care of all jobs.
Candini assists people in his community in any way he can. A few examples of this include helping people build out their speaker systems on his days off or cooking delicious Brazilian food for everyone to enjoy. He is always up for getting people together because his true passions are food, music, and flooring.
6. Brandon Constantino

Starting in the hardwood flooring business in the warehouse and handling deliveries, Brandon Constantino is now known as a “Swiss Army knife” around Bridgebay Flooring. His core focus today is on logistics, customer service, marketing, and sales. Those who nominated him said there is not a single job he cannot do around the office, noting he is fantastic at planning and developing new employees into leadership roles. Partnered with Oliver Barajas, he is credited with helping to grow the company into a powerhouse in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Before this job, Constantino worked at Leadership Public Schools as an academic coach. He is an avid fisherman who also serves as an academic coach in his spare time. On weekends and after workdays, he teaches his younger coworkers how to fish and helps them as a leader and mentor in their personal lives. Bridgebay Flooring Inc. has also donated to reforestation projects across the United States.
7. Rob Dahlberg

Rob Dahlberg began working in the hardwood flooring industry 11 years ago. Currently, he serves in a sales capacity, partnering with existing and new customers of Reliance Hardwood Flooring by Lewis Lumber & Milling to provide customer-specific partnerships. Dahlberg began his industry career at Buchanan Hardwoods in the sawmill, then moved to the flooring plant, worked his way up to flooring sales, and ultimately became the flooring sales manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Alabama.
Dahlberg is very involved in his community. He coaches in both the county and school youth sports programs, as well as the local United States Specialty Sports Association baseball league. He is also an active member of his church and on the board of trustees at Pickens Academy.
8. Chloe Desjardins

Since joining Wickham Hardwood Flooring in 2019, Chloe Desjardins has established herself as a leader within the company. She serves as marketing director and sales coordinator, overseeing all marketing and supporting the customer service team. Her goal is to keep learning every day across all areas of the business and to provide the best possible support to the sales team on the road.
Desjardins graduated from Northeastern University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a diploma in marketing. As a student-athlete, she was an all-star goalie on the women’s hockey team there and had the honor of trying out for the Canadian women’s national team.
Desjardins dedicates time to her community as president of the board of directors of a childcare center, helping support children and families in the region. Above all, she is the proud mother of two young daughters, and balancing family life with her professional ambitions is one of her greatest joys.
9. Jayce Espinosa

With more than 17 years of experience in the hardwood flooring industry, Jayce Espinosa officially joined his family’s business in 2020 after graduating from Bradley University. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in its transformation and growth. The company has expanded from small-scale refinishing and installations to high-end, full-home hardwood flooring projects, including intricate herringbone designs and complete staircase overhauls. Serving some of the most affluent cities in the northwest suburbs, the company now boasts a five-star rating with more than 80 glowing reviews, many of which directly highlight Espinosa’s hands-on approach, professionalism, and dedication to delivering a premium client experience from start to finish.
Espinosa has contributed to the local community by leading his company in sponsoring Mundelein High School athletic programs and supporting local youth initiatives. He has also played a role in sponsoring business appreciation events for local real estate professionals and participates in home expo/remodeling events, promoting community connection and industry collaboration.
10. Jody Fitzgerald

Jody Fitzgerald began his career at Monaghan Lumber as a delivery driver and advanced through roles in sales to become general manager. He has successfully guided clients ranging from installers to designers and custom home builders, making a significant impact at every stage of the wood flooring sales process. Today, he leads employee training, develops supplier stocking programs, and ensures exceptional after-sales service, becoming a cornerstone of Monaghan Lumber’s continued growth and reputation.
Fitzgerald is deeply committed to giving back to his community. He has dedicated time to coaching youth sports, helping young athletes build skills and confidence both on and off the field. In addition, he has played an active role in raising funds for SickKids Hospital in Toronto, supporting vital care for children in need.
11. Jake Glavin

For more than 30 years, City Floor Supply has been serving hardwood flooring contractors. Whether Jake Glavin is calling on new customers or handling deliveries, his focus has been on growing the business since joining the distribution company’s team. He was very involved at this year’s NWFA Wood Flooring Expo, going to classes and networking with contractors, other distributors, and manufacturers. He has also helped host numerous NWFA Sand and Finish and Installation classes at City Floor Supply.
Glavin is an avid outdoorsman and played college football at James Madison University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management. He has previously volunteered in disaster relief efforts and participated in community support programs through university athletics. He is planning to become an alumni mentor for current players.
12. Devan Hale

Devan Hale, owner of Hale Flooring and Design, has amassed more than a decade of expertise in the flooring industry by age 31. Starting at 18 with no experience, he honed his skills under his father-in-law’s mentorship before launching his own business. Hale now leads a skilled team that delivers comprehensive flooring services, consultation, design, material selection, and installation for residential and commercial properties, using high-quality, durable materials. He is known for his creativity as well as detailed work like hand-graining repairs and hand-scraping of stairs and rails.
Hale consistently demonstrates deep commitment to his community, often taking on additional work outside project budgets and providing free repairs or refinishing for those in need. He also helps individuals in his city with home repairs, modeling generosity and craftsmanship in equal measure.
13. Alex Hamilton

Alex Hamilton is described as an innovator, leader, and servant-hearted professional whose impact reaches far beyond his craft. He was the driving force behind the installation and finishing of Grain Design Flooring’s 2025 NWFA Wood Floor of the Year Members’ Choice award-winning project. He also led the team responsible for a 7,000-square-foot raw maple installation in downtown Cincinnati, recognized for its museum-level artistry and precision.
Hamilton serves on the NWFA Emerging Leaders Council and actively engages in online flooring communities, generously helping contractors troubleshoot challenges and offering encouragement.
Deeply committed to people, Hamilton participates in a recovery network where he provides support, hope, and mentorship to individuals struggling with substance abuse. His compassion and leadership inspire everyone around him.
14. Alexis Harrington

Alexis Harrington began her career as a designer specializing in high-end hospitality, contributing to prestigious hotel and restaurant projects worldwide. Seeking a new challenge, she joined Galleher to lead A&D specification sales efforts.
After briefly working in Restoration Hardware’s contract division, she returned to Galleher—now GalleherDuffy, an Artivo Surfaces company—where she has become the go-to hardwood flooring resource for the San Francisco Bay Area design community. Her clients rely on her fluency in design, materials, and specification processes, and she has secured major hospitality, commercial, and multi-family projects nationwide.
A mother of three, Harrington coaches her daughter’s soccer team and volunteers with local charities, food banks, and organizations providing furniture to families in need. She also founded a 50+ member community network that coordinates events, charitable drives, referrals, and support for families facing hardship.
15. Travis Helyer

Avox Craft Works was founded by Travis Helyer in 2014. After investing in top-tier equipment, utilizing high-quality U.S.-made flooring, and joining the NWFA in 2021, he quickly earned a reputation as one of Asheville’s elite flooring professionals.
Dedicated to craftsmanship, Helyer brings extensive experience and commitment to every project. He is passionate about continuing education and elevating the standards of the industry.
Beyond his trade, Helyer is deeply rooted in his community. He often donates or discounts labor to support churches and historic buildings. After last year’s devastating flood, he also assisted with recovery and rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Helene.
16. Gage Hunt

Gage Hunt has worked on high-end homes along Florida’s Gulf Coast and completed projects for the Department of Defense and Department of Justice. After relocating to Ohio, he joined Premiero Floors as installation manager, leading challenging and specialized projects including rift-and-quartered installations, herringbone floors, site-milled parquet, and a 3,000-square-foot fully custom prefinished installation with handcrafted borders and medallions.
Outside of work, Hunt prioritizes family time with his wife and daughter, who motivate him daily. He also helps on his in-laws’ farm and enjoys both saltwater and freshwater fishing, recently discovering a passion for fly fishing.
17. Nick Khit

With a decade of experience, Nick Khit has served more than 2,500 homes, providing high-integrity consultation, installation, sanding, and refinishing services. He owns a design and build center with a contractor pro shop, as well as a retail store offering a wide selection of hardwood products.
Khit donates materials to community centers and churches and volunteers on home improvement projects for families in need. After surviving a life-threatening illness at age 28, he has dedicated himself to helping others, mentoring tradespeople, uplifting those facing hardships, and sharing his story of resilience.
18. Bennett Knowlton

Bennett Knowlton has been with Norton/Saint-Gobain for more than a decade, building a career focused on strong customer relationships and innovative solutions. He began in industrial technical sales supporting major steel, aerospace, and foundry accounts, later transitioning into national accounts in the DIY division, where he helped launch strategic retail programs.
Today, he leads the professional floor sanding division across the Northeast and Midwest, strengthening partnerships with distributors and contractors.
Knowlton is an active member of the Hardware Group Association, a former collegiate athlete, and a volunteer with the Special Olympics. He also participates in community initiatives through Saint-Gobain’s partnership with the United Way.
19. Grace Lewis

Grace Lewis grew up in her family’s business, starting at age 14 by answering phones and organizing the office. After turning 18, she began full-time work and expanded into human resources, marketing, finance, administration, and customer relations.
She serves on the NWFA Emerging Leaders Council and has attended NWFA Expos and Leadership Summits, which she says have been invaluable for her professional growth.
Lewis also participated in local trade school job fairs with the NWFA, introducing students to wood flooring career opportunities and advocating for the value of NWFA training and membership.
20. Bob Linda

As a Footprints Floors franchise owner, Bob Linda has quickly become a leader in the North Bay. In his first year, he expanded into a second territory serving Solano, Napa, and Marin counties. He is an NWFA Certified Sales Advisor and partners with Loba-Wakol to provide hands-on refinishing training for his crews.
A U.S. military veteran, Linda brings discipline, focus, and mentorship to his teams. He actively supports Para Ti Global, a nonprofit serving children in underserved communities worldwide. Locally, he contributes to educational and community improvement initiatives and mentors individuals interested in flooring careers.
21. Matthew Lindenmuth

With more than 20 years of experience, Matthew Lindenmuth began as an edger and steadily advanced through dedication and skill. He is an NWFA Certified Sand and Finish Professional and Certified Sales Advisor, and he actively pursues continuing education through NWFA Expo.
Known for remarkable work ethic and technical excellence, he consistently delivers high-quality results across all projects.
Lindenmuth volunteers in numerous community and philanthropic initiatives, including youth sports, education programs, the American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Shriners Hospital for Children, Mercy House of the Southern Tier, and local law enforcement causes.
22. Juan Marquez

He volunteers with the Florida International University Chess Club, teaching chess to seniors to promote cognitive health and community. He also supports the Alzheimer’s Association through fundraising and participation in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
23. Ilya Meltser

For 15 years, Ilya Meltser has been a key leader at PID Floors. As VP of sales operations, he is the go-to person for resolving complex challenges. He is a LEED Green Associate and an NWFA Certified Sales Advisor, combining sustainability expertise with deep industry knowledge.
Meltser works closely with leadership to guide strategic growth and strengthen the organization.
Passionate about sustainability, he represented PID at the 2024 Flooring Sustainability Summit and regularly contributes to panels and roundtables shaping industry-wide conversations. Colleagues describe him as thoughtful, steady, and integral to everything the company does.
24. Allyson Merrill

After earning a degree in criminal justice, Allyson Merrill spent eight years working in corrections and youth services before shifting careers after becoming a mother. Drawn to the peace she finds in barns, she joined Antique Building Solutions, a company focused on procuring old barns and reclaimed materials.
She now manages customer accounts and supports onboarding of new distributors. Flooring became one of the company’s fastest-growing sectors, and Merrill immersed herself in it as demand rose.
She has lifelong ties to 4-H and local horse associations, and she continues to volunteer at fundraisers and community sponsorship events.
25. Tyler Myatt

Tyler Myatt grew up in the wood flooring trade, working alongside his father. In 2022, he joined Loba-Wakol North America as an application specialist, helping develop a world-class training program and supporting customer success across North America. He is known for adaptability and dedication to expanding and sharing technical knowledge.
Myatt leads career-oriented training at local schools and is passionate about supporting sea turtle conservation through habitat revitalization. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife and two children, while also introducing newcomers to outdoor activities.
26. Antonio Nava

With more than 20 years of hands-on experience, Antonio Nava is an NWFA Certified Installer, Certified Sand and Finish Professional, and Certified Sales Advisor. He specializes in work on historic homes across North Texas, where his craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail have earned a strong reputation.
Nava is committed to mentorship and leads four installation crews composed of young professionals he personally trained. He provides hands-on experience and guidance to help them build stable, long-term careers in the wood flooring trade.
27. Hunter Noe

Hunter Noe worked for 12 years in his parents’ flooring business, starting in installation before moving into sales. He joined Metropolitan Hardwood Floors in 2024 and has helped build the Kansas and Missouri markets through strong relationships and dedicated service.
Outside of work, Noe coaches junior high and high school girls’ soccer. He personally covers the cost of uniforms, gear, and winter clothing when players cannot afford them, ensuring all students can fully participate. His mentorship and generosity have made a lasting impact on the athletes and their broader community.
28. Ben Norton

Ben Norton began his career as a CPA with EY before launching Footprints Floors of Kentucky in 2021. In just three years, he expanded into the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati region, tripled his team size, and achieved 35 percent year-over-year growth.
He developed a data analytics tool to improve marketing efficiency and contributes to national franchise strategy as part of the marketing steering committee.
Norton and his wife actively support organizations meaningful to them, lead Bible studies for young adults, serve on benefit committees, and volunteer with crisis pregnancy support programs.
29. Alex Oliveira

Alex Oliveira began in the trade at age 16, carrying tools and observing seasoned craftsmen. He advanced from installer to foreman and then into business ownership. Today, he leads a 15-person company serving high-end New York City clients.
Oliveira, an NWFA Certified Sales Advisor, believes in educating clients so they can make informed decisions. He will open his first showroom this year to help customers explore flooring options firsthand.
He takes pride in mentoring new tradespeople, developing their skills, and helping them pursue career advancement—including starting businesses of their own.
30. Alex Parrott

Introduced to the industry at age five, Alex Parrott worked on gym floors throughout his youth. After earning an MBA, he joined the finish side of the industry and now represents Berger-Seidle sport flooring products across the U.S. and Canada.
His role includes technical training, customer relationship management, and development of the Berger-Seidle sport category.
Parrott played football at Carson-Newman University and now coaches a high school offensive line, helping young athletes develop discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
31. Michelle Pizzo

Michelle Pizzo joined Apex Wood Floors nearly seven years ago as an executive assistant. Through executive coaching and exceptional performance, she grew into the role of chief of staff. She leads onsite training, develops clear processes, and conducts feedback meetings, earning a reputation as a transformational leader with a “whatever it takes” mindset.
A journalism graduate from Columbia College Chicago, Pizzo also runs a hobby-sharing group that organizes free classes on pottery, sign language, and other skills. She continues a clothes-swap tradition she began in college.
32. Titus Ragalie

Titus Ragalie grew up in his family’s wood flooring business and was running crews and selling projects by his early teens. After high school, he took on customer service, project management, sales, and daily operations. As his parents stepped back, he became the face and leader of the company.
He has grown crews, trained leaders, expanded marketing, increased sales, and taken on larger construction projects.
Outside of flooring, Ragalie supports a growing car-enthusiast community, organizing meet-ups, volunteering, and helping young builders learn restoration, wraps, and mechanical skills.
33. Sean Rock

A second-generation wood flooring professional, Sean Rock took over the family business and expanded its focus, adding a sundries location in addition to installation and sand-and-finish services. Known for energy, creativity, and entrepreneurial drive, he uses all NWFA resources to strengthen and grow operations.
Rock frequently helps others in the industry, including competitors, and is praised for his generosity.
Despite long hours, he coaches his son’s hockey team and values the personal rewards of mentoring young athletes.
34. Jake Schlichte

Jake Schlichte discovered his passion for wood floors working beside his father. He founded North Country Hardwoods with a vision of raising the bar for quality and service. He attends NWFA trainings and previously traveled to Germany as part of Lägler’s “Fly and Sand” experience. As a part-owner of a flooring distributor, he also supports his local market with high-quality products.
Schlichte is active in local sporting and community events. He participates in racing, enjoys motorcycles and modified cars, practices martial arts with family, and travels with his five children.
35. Kelsey Sharland

With 10 years of experience, Kelsey Sharland blends technical knowledge with design insight to guide customers toward flooring that matches their lifestyle and aesthetics. She works across jobsites, trade shows, and showrooms and also leads Gaylord’s social media strategy, growing its audience significantly through authentic, engaging storytelling.
Sharland is a mother of two and volunteers at her children’s school and in their sports activities. She is committed to building strong foundations in both her home life and her community.
36. Lawrence Skutelsky

Raised in the family business, Lawrence Skutelsky combines his architectural background with industry experience to drive growth for PID Floors. He works across operations, market expansion, and marketing, including launching the BEYOND THE SURFACE video series highlighting creators and inspiring projects.
He also helps advance PID Sources, a program that builds partnerships with design studios and trade professionals.
Skutelsky is an NWFA Certified Sales Advisor, a member of the NWFA Emerging Leaders Council, and an advocate with the Hardwood Federation, meeting with members of Congress to support industry issues.
37. Joshua Smith

Joshua Smith joined the company 12 years ago as a material handler and steadily advanced to production manager. He has supported the company’s expansion into new specialty products, including herringbone flooring, and leads by example with strong work ethic and dedication.
He contributed to the company earning OSHA’s SHARP certification for workplace safety.
Smith is a father of four and devotes much of his time to supporting his children’s activities, including coaching local sports.
38. Raul Mendez Vargas

A second-generation craftsman with 10 years of experience, Raul Mendez Vargas is known for exceptional skill, dedication, and professionalism. He works on installation and refinishing projects across the region and collaborates with other NWFA members nationwide.
Mendez Vargas shares educational flooring content on social media, inspiring contractors and consumers alike.
