June 25-27, 2025
Lägler North America
Denver, Colorado
This three-day in-person intermediate level course is designed for those with wood flooring experience. Led by Ben Totta, NWFA Regional Instructor and owner of Totta Hardwoods, it included in-depth training on general equipment maintenance, sanding multiple flooring types/species, floor flattening methods, minimizing the scratch patterns, and efficient use of professional sanding equipment. On the finishing side, attendees learned about stain application, sealers, natural oils, waxes, colorants, reactive conditioners, finish application, scraping, recoats and final coat application, repairs, and board replacement.
“We came to the NWFA Intermediate Sand and Finish class because we wanted to see what the standards are out there. We’ve done it for a long time, but learned a lot of hints and tricks,” says Ke’anu De Aguiar, owner of Quality Floor Service in Waimea, Hawaii. “You’ll feel more confident after you leave.”
Duncan Tatus, also with Quality Floor Service, adds: “We learned from a lot of different people and a lot of dos and don’ts. We wanted to see that national standard, come up with better practices, analyze previous and current jobs and what to do better for future jobs. Overall, I highly recommend these classes.”
