Wood Talk: Paul Rezuke

Paul Rezuke

Paul Rezuke is the vice president of U.S. sales for Wickham Hardwood Flooring, a manufacturer located in Wickham, Quebec. He has been with the company since 2016 and is a minority shareholder. Wickham Hardwood Flooring is part of the NWFA’s Engineered Wood Flooring Refinishable program.

Rezuke recently was featured on the NWFA Wood Talk podcast, so Hardwood Floors magazine caught up with him to ask a few more questions.

Tell us something interesting about yourself. I am a firm believer and have been involved with all types of youth sports, including basketball and baseball. I did volunteer work and served as the president of our Little League program for seven years which coincided with my children’s participation.

How did you get started in the industry? I spent the first half of my professional career in the public sector working on economic development initiatives for the commonwealth of Massachusetts. In the late 1990s, I decided to pursue the private sector and by coincidence, got involved in the lumber industry. That transitioned over to the hardwood flooring side of the business in 2005. I started off as a broker for five years, worked in e-commerce for a few years, and have been with Wickham for the last nine years.

What is your favorite wood floor project that you’ve participated in? The most exciting project that I have worked on at Wickham was with the designers and architects at Crate & Barrel. We provided material for four of their stores, so it was an exciting project with a real high-end retail business. It was from start to finish – meeting with the architects, choosing the right product that was applicable to the job, working with them on the installation, and then the roll out.

What energizes you to stay in the wood flooring industry? I enjoy it. Plus, my minority ownership in the company that was afforded to me in 2023 and the fact that my son is in the business. I have a vested interest both economically and personally.

What are you listening to right now? I’m a big country music fan. I was introduced to it about 12 years ago and it follows me around whether it’s in the car, at the gym, or anywhere else. It’s always country music. Luke Combs, Luke Bryan, and Chris Young are probably my top three artists.

Do you have a morning routine that sets you up for success? I like to get to the gym in the morning early before the day starts and get a workout in and get my blood going. That, followed by a nice cup of coffee, breakfast, and then I’m at my desk or on the road.

What keeps you busy outside of work? I have two grandkids who are very active in sports and I try to make it to as many of their games as I can. When I have any free time to myself, it’s golf.
