The board of directors of the European Parquet Federation, FEP, met last week and discussed the parquet situation in the European markets. Parquet markets fell in almost all FEP countries during the first three quarters 2024 compared to the same period last year, echoing the still subdued activity in the construction sector.
The FEP says as consumersā purchasing power has been hit, cheaper alternatives such as fake wood flooring is now more frequently considered as well as unfairly priced parquet from Chinese origin. The FEP adds that registration of imports and increased flows of multilayer parquet from China have been observed in the EU market, potentially with the aim of building-up stocks before the imposition of measures later this year. Such imports could, however, be made subject to retroactive collections of the anti-dumping duties, if the legal criteria are met.

The FEPās 69th General Assembly and 49th Parquet Congress are scheduled on June 12-13, 2025 in Stockholm, Sweden.
