At the beginning of September, woodworkers from across the world met at Rubio Monocoat’s headquarters in Belgium for the Rubio Monocoat Atelier. They were split into two teams and challenged to build a piece of furniture that would later be raffled off to benefit a charitable organization. The chosen organization was Aynimundo, a charity out of Lima, Peru, which helps children with disabilities access healthcare, education, and assist them in reintegrating into society.
Crafted by Jeff Mack, Lucas Jablonski, Nick James, Bruce Kenneth, Pierre Bölmer, David Levantaci, and Gaëtan Samyn, table one was made from ash, oak, and Patagonian walnut. The base of this table is made from seven pieces of wood representing the seven makers who worked together to bring this piece to life. This piece was finished with a variety of Rubio Monocoat products, including Precolor Easy Vintage Brown and Oil Plus 2C Pure.
Woodworkers Jason Hibbs, Richard Doyle, Craig Norton, Steve and Wood, Sylvie Pereira, Valentin Motsch, and Jolene Brebels worked together to create a coffee table and matching side table. These pieces were crafted from ash, oak, and Patagonian walnut and were finished with Oil Plus 2C Pure. Both pieces have coordinating bases made out of oak and Patagonian walnut.
Raffle tickets are available for $5, and multiple tickets can be purchased to increase the odds of winning. The raffle closes on November 16, 2022.
