Castlewood Pledges $150,000 to Preserve Old-Growth Yellowwood Forest

Castlewood today announced a pledge of $150,000 to save the 299 acres of the old-growth Yellowwood forest in the Yellowwood Back Country Area (BCA). The public forest is home to many threatened, rare, and endangered species. Hikers, campers, backpackers, and hunters frequent the forest.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Forestry is selling off the forest to commercial logging; November 9 at 9:00 a.m. Castlewood is pledging the full amount of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Forestryā€™s stated value of USD 150,000.00. The pledge is to preserve the old-growth forest for 100 years and future generations of the American people.
