Bostik, Inc. has announced three major players within the wood flooring sector will be part of another exciting contest recently added to its Bostik’s Signature Spaces™ series of design competitions: THE ART OF HARDWOOD FLOORING™ DESIGN CONTEST.
Scott Banda, Bostik’s Director of Marketing and Business Development stated, “Due to the amazing success of Design ‘N Gather, the international mosaic design competition we co-sponsored this past May with Artaic, we decided to have a wood flooring design contest. Along with the National Wood Flooring Association and MGM Resorts International, we have invited those within ‘the wood sector’ to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces comprised of wood flooring.”
Once the winning design is selected, it could be ultimately installed in the lobby of a new steakhouse located in Las Vegas’ new Park MGM Resort, currently under development by MGM Resorts International and Sydell Group. Additionally, the winner will receive an amazing trip for two to Paris, France, courtesy of Bostik.
Oshkosh Designs, the Wisconsin-based firm, which for over 25 years has been crafting exquisite hardwood medallions, wood floor borders and designer parquet flooring, will be transforming the winning design into a “ready-for-installation reality.” According to President/CEO Brenda Kubasta, “This is a great opportunity for Oshkosh Designs. I’m a designer by trade, and as a result, cannot wait to see the amazing design creations, which are being submitted for the contest. The final installation will be a visual masterpiece… and, we’re up to the challenge of producing world-class wood flooring that is in synch with the overall theme of the restaurant.”
Eagle Bay Hardwood Flooring, the exclusive brand produced by Delta Hardwood Flooring of Boonville, New York, has been selected to provide the majority of the wood flooring material for the restaurant, which will complement the lobby work of Oshkosh Designs. This is a highly durable, commercial-grade product customized to meet the design specifications set forth by the venue’s design firm MBDS (Martin Brudnizki Design Studios) of London and New York. According to Randy Bowers, President/Founder of Delta/Eagle Bay, “We’ve been producing wood flooring for over a decade, exclusively as OEM/private label material. We recently made the decision to introduce our ‘made in America with American lumber and by American workers’ product as Eagle Bay. What a great opportunity to introduce a company that’s been around for over ten years! We’re so excited to be part of Bostik’s program!”
The entire restaurant’s flooring will be installed with Bostik materials, including Ultra-Set® SingleStep2, premium high-performance adhesive, moisture control and sound reduction membrane. MasterCraft Floors, the commercial flooring installation firm, which has built its reputation by consistently delivering some of the most intricate and visually stimulating projects throughout Las Vegas, will be in charge of the restaurant’s floor installation. According to Garrett Ulfig, Las Vegas Branch Manager of MasterCraft Floors, “We’re excited about working on this high profile project. In the past, we’ve worked successfully with MGM Resorts… we’re grateful they acknowledge the quality of our work. And, we’re equally pleased that Bostik is so involved in this project, as for any wood flooring job opportunity, we prefer working with Bostik’s products.
Banda, who with Joyen Vakil, Senior Vice President of Design & Development for MGM Resorts International, spearheaded this program, added, “The winning design will be chosen by an esteemed panel of judges. Those who want to take part in the competition must register, which is a FREE and easy process.
