Denver Hardwood Opens a New Distribution Center

This May Denver Hardwood will celebrate its 36th Anniversary with the Grand Opening of their new 100,000-square foot, state-of-the-art Distribution Center. While this new location solidifies Denver Hardwood’s position as the largest hardwood flooring distributor in the Rocky Mountain region, it is their humble beginnings that truly tell the story of their rise to the top.

Denver Hardwood opened for operation in May 1981 in a small corner of a building they shared with East Denver Lumber. At that time, Denver Hardwood only occupied approximately 10,000 square feet of the 60,000-square foot building. Within a few years, Denver Hardwood soon had a lease on the entire building where they operated until 2011.

At 6:30 am on January 30, 2017, Denver Hardwood opened its doors at their new Distribution Center located just a mile from where they started. There were no balloons, bands or fanfare, just customers lined up in the parking lot at 6:15am just like they had for the past 35 years. On May 12, 2017, Denver Hardwood will host an ‘Official’ Grand Opening of their new location. Ironically, this grand opening will be almost 36 years to the day that Denver Hardwood first opened for business back in 1981.

Denver Hardwood’s original location at 4700B National Western Drive – circa 1981.
