Wasps Used to Fight Emerald Ash Borer

Wasps are being used to help combat the Emerald Ash Borer, which continues to devastate ash trees in the US.Ā The US Department of Agriculture has approved the release of four parasitic wasp species that attack the eggs and larvae of the ash borer, which is expected to significantly stall its spread.Ā To date, more than 38 million ash trees have been lost,Ā costing about $25 billion.Ā Ash trees in Europe are under threat as well.Ā More information is available here.
