NWFA Names Billy Simmons as Certified Professionals Inspector Programs Consultant

The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) today announced that Billy Simmons has been appointed as the Certified Professionals Inspector Programs Consultant. In this role, Simmons will direct the NWFACP Inspector program, analyze incoming reports, handle complaints, and serve as a resource and mentor for current and future certified inspectors. He will join the organization on September 14, 2026.

“Through Billy’s inspection work across the country, he has earned a reputation for uncovering the facts and identifying the root cause of complex flooring issues,” said Stephanie Owen, President and CEO of NWFA. “His extensive experience conducting inspections, writing and reviewing reports, and educating professionals who want to become certified inspectors gives him a unique perspective on every aspect of the process. Billy will elevate the NWFACP Inspector program and further its impact on the industry.”

Simmons is the founder of ITAC International LLC, an independent firm specializing in the science of flooring behaviors and failures. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and is a nationally recognized forensic consultant. His NWFA credentials include Certified Wood Flooring Inspector, Certified Installation Professional, Certified Sand and Finish Professional, Certified Sales Advisor, and Certified Commercial Inspector. He also serves on the NWFA Certified Professionals Board of Directors, is a Regional Instructor, and has received the NWFA Vanguard and Ambassador Degrees.
