What’s Happening at NWFA: July Edition

Are you looking to get more involved in the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA)? Would you like to brush up your skills via an online class or in-person training? Below is a snapshot of some of the opportunities available from the NWFA in July 2023.

  • July 1: NWFA Membership Renewals. It is time to renew NWFA membership! Renewal should be completed before July 1 to maintain access to all of the valuable resources the NWFA has to offer. Read more and renew today.
  • July 11-13: Intermediate Installation + CP Testing I Denver Hardwood Co – Denver, CO. This three-day course includes in depth training on jobsite preparation, layout, understanding the science of wood, analysis of solid and engineered flooring, practice and instruction for nail/glue/floating installation methods of unfinished, factory finished, solid, and engineered flooring, as well as learning a variety of floor repair techniques and how to incorporate simple design elements into a floor.   • July 17: Wood Floor Sales Workshop| Lockwood Flooring Des Moines – Grimes, IA. A one-day in-person or virtual course providing instruction about different types of wood and their technical attributes as flooring products, how to sell wood against “wood-look” floor coverings, and the benefits of real wood flooring. Also includes minimizing claims and call-backs, guiding the customer to the right species and floor type for their lifestyle, understanding appropriate installation methods and finishes for each project, and developing stronger customer relationships and loyalty throughout the selling process.   • July 18: Tech Talk Tuesday with Mid TN Lumber: Jobsite Troubles and Corrections. Join industry veteran, Wayne Lee of Middle TN Lumber and Brett Miller of NWFA, as they discuss some of the more common jobsite troubles and corrections. During this webinar you will be able to engage with Wayne and Brett as they lead the discussion on proper site conditions prior to wood flooring delivery, sub-floor preparation, and uses of proper vapor retarders.   • July 20: Product Theater Thursday – Olde Wood Ltd.   • July 21: NWFA and Hardwood Floors Magazine 2024 Industry Outlook Survey Deadline. The 2024 Industry Outlook will be published in the October/November issue of NWFA’s Hardwood Floors Participate in our annual benchmarking survey and tell us what you have seen, what you are currently seeing, and what you expect to see in your market.   • July 26: Loba-Wakol: VOC’s. What are they? Calculated vs. Emissions. Join Don Jewell with Loba Wakol as he discusses VOCs. There are many variables that dictate what VOCs are, and what makes them “bad.” Don will simplify what VOCs are, as well as discussing the differences between calculated VOCs vs VOC emissions.
