Basic Coatings Now Hiring for New Chief Science Officer Position

Basic Coatings announced that the company is actively seeking a new Chief Science Officer (CSO) to oversee the scientific functions of the organization across each of its three brands, including research projects and new process, technology, and product development. The company is looking for a leader in the chemistry, biology, or microbiology fields who can combine discipline-specific expertise with business acumen to align research and development (R&D), microbiology, quality control, and regulatory priorities with aggressive growth objectives and an overall mission to provide superior performance in the floor coatings, commercial cleaning, and microbial fermentation industries.

In addition to embracing the inherit complexity of projects that aim to enhance corporate efficiency, profitability, and competitive position, the right candidate will also be passionate about leveraging technical skill to create next level innovations as well as be a self-described “people person.” The new CSO should feel like they belong in a family-owned business that is committed to continuous improvement and are able to drive a culture of accountability and proactivity accordingly.

“The world of hardwood flooring maintenance moves fast – we’re looking for a CSO who moves faster,” said Brad Betz, president of Basic Coatings. “In the race to formula innovations and new technologies, we need a dynamic and experienced executive to develop an R&D roadmap, provide leadership, facilitate technical mastery, and drive quality outcomes – all while addressing emerging regulatory changes that could serve as potential roadblocks.”

At every level, Basic Coatings offers team members rewarding and challenging career opportunities, a competitive benefits package with excellent medical costs, a 401k plan, and productivity incentives.
