Horizon Forest Products announced that Alysa Klages joined the Raleigh Corporate Branch as a Purchasing team member on May 25, 2021.
Prior to starting with Horizon Forest Products, Klages worked for Kymera International as a purchasing coordinator. She spent over two years in procurement with Kymera purchasing raw materials, parts, and supplies for two powdered metals plant locations in New Jersey and North Carolina. According to the company, as a purchasing coordinator serving two heavy industrial manufacturing facilities, Klages learned to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive relationships with suppliers. Supply chain problems were especially challenging during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and she gained a great deal of experience networking and seeking new vendors who could provide essential raw materials and supplies to keep the plants running at full capacity.
“We are so excited to welcome Alysa to our team,” said Bev Farah, Purchasing team manager for Horizon Forest Products. “She comes to us with fresh perspectives and a strong work ethic. Her expertise will be an asset to our team!”
Klages received her Associate Degree in Business Administration from County College of Morris in Randolph, New Jersey in 2021. She completed her degree part-time while working full-time for Kymera International.
“I have been delighted by the warm welcome I have received in my first week,” said Klages. “I am looking forward to working hard for the Horizon Forest Products team and having an opportunity to grow with the company. As always, I am excited to gain experience and hone my procurement skills in a new industry.”
