Last week, we wrapped up another sold-out training event at NWFA Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. Basic Sand & Finish, led by NWFA Regional Instructor, Ben Totta, was a three-day hands-on training event that covered safety, an introduction to sanding equipment, as well as an introduction to staining and finishing products and processes.
“I truly feel that finishing is an art form. The color techniques, the different strategies and how to achieve colors is what I’m passionate about,” says Chuck Balek, DuraSeal. “Being able to share that with others will continue what I believe is kind of a dying breed.”
“I learned a lot of different sand and finish methods from other contractors. It was also very beneficial to be able to test out different products and be able to see what they looked like once they were applied,” says Clint Leonard. “All of the instructors are so knowledgeable and so willing to share their knowledge with us. I really enjoyed being here!”
A special thank you to our Partners in Education and all of the instructors and students who made last week’s event possible!
