EPA Approves ICC-ES as a Third-Party Certifier

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved the International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) as a recognized Third-Party Certifier under the Formaldehyde Emission Standards for Composite Wood Products Rule.

ICC-ES is one of only 20 providers worldwide approved by the EPA to test that composite wood products sold, supplied, offered for sale, imported to or manufactured in the U.S. are compliant with the formaldehyde emission standards found in the rule. Composite wood products include hardwood plywood, particleboard, medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and thin MDF.

ā€œWe are pleased to be one of the few organizations recognized by the EPA to provide these certifications,ā€ said ICC-ES President Shahin Moinian, P.E. ā€œWe have been providing exceptional building product certifications to our clients for decades, and this achievement will allow us to expand our service offerings and add more value and options to our clients.ā€
