NWFA: A Year of Growing Together

As we embark upon 2017, there’s a lot to reflect on from the past year. With an 11% growth in membership, record attendance at NWFA Expo, and numerous sold-out training events, 2016 was a very successful year for our members. In November, we revealed the top reasons we are thankful, but most of all, we are thankful for you.

Our members are the heartbeat of our association and we’re grateful for all you do to support our industry. Here are a few of our favorite member moments…

MIDDLE TENNESSEE LUMBER MEET & GREET WITH RUSTY WALLACE AT NWFA EXPO
How many opportunities do you get to meet a NASCAR Hall of Famer? NWFA Expo was one to remember this year with soaring attendance, outstanding education, and, of course, a Meet & Greet with Rusty Wallace in the Middle Tennessee Lumber booth.

The member-sponsored training event sponsored by Bostik Adhesives was definitely one for the books. With 196 students in attendance, this Intermediate Installation class was one of our biggest to date. In 2016, NWFA offered more than 40 hands-on training events across the continent to help expand our reach and provide education to our industry.

CLEVELAND HARDWOOD RESTORATION’S SOCIAL SHARE OF THE NWFA INDUSTRY GUIDE
The cover of the 2017 Resource Book is a memorable one for NWFA and for Cleveland Hardwood Restoration. Unlike any cover before, this one featured new NWFA member, Brandon Santiago. With 950 combined “likes” from various social channels and more than 6,000 people reached, Cleveland Hardwood Restoration’s social post of the Resource Book quickly became NWFA’s top mention of the year.

In 2016, our members have utilized social media to connect with us and other professionals in the industry. The quality of the posts and engagement amongst our followers has grown 38% across all social media channels this year.

THE REGIONAL INSTRUCTORS’ MEETING
Each January, our NWFA Regional Instructors join us at NWFA Headquarters to collaborate and develop new ideas for the upcoming training year. This year’s annual meeting was full of innovative ideas and excitement to kick off the 2016 hands-on training schedule.

The enthusiasm and expertise our Regional Instructors pass along during training events is unparalleled. They provide a great learning experience for the students and each other, and play a huge part in the success of our technical education program.

THE ADDITION OF NWFA’S TECHNICAL RESOURCE FACEBOOK GROUP
In May, NWFA established this member-benefit as an extension of our technical call center. The group was created to encourage members of the wood flooring industry to ask technical questions and receive advice from other seasoned professionals. The group has proven to be an excellent resource and forum for communication amongst many of our members. With new members requesting to be added every day, we’re excited to see this benefit continue to grow in 2017.
