Basswood, known for its lightweight yet sturdy properties, serves as an excellent core material for engineered wood flooring. Its uniform texture and fine grain contribute to enhanced dimensional stability, reducing the likelihood of warping or swelling. This ensures a longer lifespan for flooring products, providing consumers with durable and reliable flooring solutions.
PurParket Inc. says its commitment to environmental responsibility is reflected in the selection of basswood, a species that regenerates relatively quickly compared to traditional 
hardwoods. Utilizing basswood in core layers allows for more efficient use of resources, as it maximizes the yield from each log, thereby minimizing waste. This approach aligns with sustainable forestry practices and supports the preservation of mature hardwood forests.
