What’s Happening at NWFA: March Edition

Are you looking to get more involved in the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA)? Would you like to brush up your skills via an online class or in-person training? Below is a snapshot of some of the opportunities available from the NWFA in March 2025.

  • March: NWFA Wood Flooring Expo Registration. Registration is now open for the 2025 Wood Flooring Expo, which will be held from April 15-17 in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is the largest trade show and conference worldwide dedicated exclusively to real wood flooring. Learn more.
  • March 4: Tech Talk Tuesday with Middle TN Lumber. There are many different styles of multi-disc sanders available today. These sanders are changing the way floors get sanded. In this webinar Wayne Lee will discuss different sanding processes, styles, and techniques that have been enhanced through using multi-disc sanders. Register now.
  • March 5: Webinar Wednesday with Sheoga Hardwood Flooring. What differentiates a premier hardwood floor vs. strip mill flooring? This presentation will review how hardwood flooring products are manufactured and the differences between high-volume flooring manufacturers vs custom wood flooring manufacturers. Register now.
  • March 11-14: Intermediate Sand and Finish + CP Testing | Charlotte, NC. A three-day in-person intermediate level course for those with wood flooring experience. Includes in-depth training on general equipment maintenance, sanding multiple flooring types/species, unfinished/factory-finished, engineered/multidirectional/parquet flooring. Also includes floor flattening methods, minimizing the scratch patterns and efficient use of the professional sanding equipment. On the finishing side, the attendee will learn about and practice with stain application, sealers, natural oils, waxes, colorants, reactive conditioners, finish application, scraping, recoats and final coat application, repairs, and board replacement.   • March 11-14: Intermediate Installation + CP Testing | Louis, MO. This three-day course includes in depth training on jobsite preparation, layout, understanding the science of wood, analysis of solid and engineered flooring, practice and instruction for nail/glue/floating installation methods of unfinished, factory finished, solid, and engineered flooring, as well as learning a variety of floor repair techniques and how to incorporate simple design elements into a floor.   • March 25-28: Basic Installation and Sand & Finish | Boise, ID. These introductory level courses are for anyone who is new to the wood flooring industry.
