FEP: European Parquet Market Declined in 2024

During its January board of directors meeting at BAU, the European Parquet Federation (FEP) estimated that the overall consumption of European parquet market for 2024 decreased by just under five percent compared to 2023.

This evaluation should be considered as a preliminary forecast and is the result of the best estimates discussed with member country representatives. FEP emphasizes that this is a first forecast subject to variations – also between the north and the south of Europe – in anticipation of the complete data which will be communicated in June during the FEP General Assembly and Parquet Congress in Stockholm. After a difficult 2023, which was characterized by a dramatic fall in consumption, the market seems to have reached the bottom in 2024.

FEP says the parquet sector is expecting an uptick of construction activity later in 2025 as well as relief coming from the imposition of the provisional anti-dumping measures by the European Commission against imports of multilayer wood flooring originating in China.

The FEPā€™s 69th General Assembly and 49th Parquet Congress will be held June 12-13, 2025, in Stockholm, Scandinavia.
