Legacy Scholarship – Jorge ‘Tito’ Boror

Jorge ‘Tito’ Boror Inducted into NWFA’s Legacy Scholarship Program

The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) has inducted Jorge “Tito” Boror, the past business manager at LOBASAND, into its Legacy Scholarship program through the NWFA Education and Research Foundation (NERF). The NERF Legacy Scholarship program honors individuals who made significant contributions throughout their lives to advance the wood flooring industry.

Known affectionately as “Tito,” Boror served as a mentor and inspiration to many, from seasoned professionals to newcomers in the industry. His deep knowledge as a former contractor made him a valuable resource for those seeking advice and mentorship. His dedication and service to the wood flooring industry was marked by a remarkable passion and enthusiasm.

“Tito had so much love for his family, his friends, and this industry. He always pushed himself and those around him to improve their skills and reach the next level of professionalism,” says Michael Martin, president and CEO of NWFA. “His dedication to our industry, his drive for continuous improvement, and his mentorship to those around him were inspirational. This scholarship is a testament to his legacy. Through it, we will continue to inspire and support wood flooring professionals in the spirit of Tito’s own passion for hands-on training.”

NERF was established to provide industry research and educate future generations of wood flooring professionals. The NERF Legacy Scholarship program helps the NWFA keep training costs to a minimum for participants. Through NERF, NWFA offers educational opportunities like hands-on training, NWFA University, NWFA Live Edge, and scholarships. Since 2014, NWFA has awarded scholarships totaling more than $80,000.

“Tito was not just a colleague, but a cherished friend. His dedication to the industry was matched only by his commitment to developing the next generation of wood flooring professionals,” shares James Toal, technical sales representative at Loba-Wakol. “His memory will live on through this scholarship, continuing to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.”

In addition to the NERF Legacy Scholarship, contributions are actively being collected for a named scholarship for Boror. Named scholarships can be established for a minimum of $20,000 to honor individuals who made significant and lasting contributions to the industry.
