City Floor Supply Teams with the NWFA to Host Intermediate Installation Training

City Floor Supply (CFS) recently joined forces with the National Wood Floor Association (NWFA) to host Intermediate Installation Training. The 3-day training workshop was held in late March at the flooring distributor’s North American Headquarters in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Watch the video recap.

NWFA Regional Instructor, Jason Elquest, led the hands-on training workshop. Students learned crucial skills such as proper jobsite evaluation, board replacement, how to use self-leveling compounds, and how to lay prefinished, unfinished, solid and engineered hardwood flooring. Complicated installation patterns such as chevron and herringbone were also covered, as were custom inlays and borders. Students were encouraged to think of themselves as not just installers, but as flooring professionals, and to apply what they learned to help sell their services more effectively.

City Floor Supply Founder, Mike Glavin, was impressed with the level of skill and dedication he saw throughout the course of the training. “The students did some truly amazing work. It’s not easy learning how to conduct NWFA-approved hardwood floor installations, but these guys now have a skillset that truly sets them apart,” said Glavin.

City Floor Supply also held NWFACP certification testing on Friday, April 1 for a select few hardwood floor contractors.

City Floor is set to hold NWFA Intermediate Sand and Finish Training in early May 2022 to a sold-out crowd. The NWFA conducts additional training sessions throughout the year at various locations throughout the country. For more information on upcoming training events visit the NWFA’s website.
