NHLA Announces New Kiln Drying Workshop

The National Hardwood Lumber Association is excited to announce a pair of Kiln Drying Workshop courses in early May.

Complete Kiln Drying Lumber Workshop (Fundamentals to Advanced)

TheĀ  workshop will advance the knowledge and skills of new kiln operators, managers, supervisors, and trainees. Students will learn the fundamentals of kiln drying, including the best practices for measuring quality, proper stacking and air drying, and measuring moisture content (MC). They will also be trained on advanced techniques, including identifying defects, how to safely speed-up drying, energy savings, and more.

Fees: $400 for members | $500 for non-members

This workshop will focus on advanced kiln drying techniques and training, including identifying defects (and the causes and cures), how to safely speed-up drying, energy savings, and more. Participants of this workshop must have some experience running drying equipment, as no beginning or basic procedures will be covered. Students are encouraged to bring real-life problems to class for the instructor to evaluate, discuss, and resolve.
