Hardwood Hints:

Drywall normally is ½” thick. To ensure your flooring installation has adequate expansion space at the walls, or when the designer is requesting “net-fit” installation, use your jamsaw or oscillating saw to undercut the drywall to gain a ½” of expansion space. Set the saw at about 1/16” higher than the thickness of the floor to avoid any potential pinch-points, and to allow the floor to move freely.
