Valentus Specialty Chemicals Announces Promotions

Valentus Specialty Chemicals announced that Dave Brunori has accepted his new position as President, Valentus Wood Coatings Group and that Troy Murray has joined the Valentus Wood Coatings Group in a new role as Vice President/General Manager of PoloPlaz.

The largest US privately owned wood floor coatings business, PoloPlaz and the ACG segments make up the Valentus Wood Coatings Group. Brunori will continue reporting to Ray Chlodney, President & CEO of Valentus Specialty Chemicals.

He will be responsible for the management and strategy development for all wood coatings in the Valentus portfolio, with emphasis on commercial activities, product development and marketing, while providing guidance to the PoloPlaz site.

Brunori has been the EVP of PoloPlaz since January and comes to us from Valspar where he was Business Director for Valspar’s Automotive segment, and as President of Quest Automotive Products. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Baldwin-Wallace university and an MBA, with a concentration in Operations Management, from Walsh College.

“Dave’s diverse background in product development, operations, strategy and leadership, coupled with his acquisition and integration experience, will be an asset and the primary driver for Valentus as we look to expand our reach and grow our business,” says Chlodney.

Murray will report to David Brunori, Wood Coatings Group President.

“Troy has a great reputation built on trust and relationships. We are lucky to add his diverse experience to our organization. Troy’s financial background, coupled with his acquisition and integration experience, will be an asset for Valentus as we look to expand our reach and grow our business,” says Brunori.

Murray comes from Valspar Automotive/Quest Automotive Products where he acted as the North American Finance Manager/Division Controller. He held many roles including financial responsibility, commercial team support, inventory management, to name a few.

Troy earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA, with a concentration in Finance, from the University of Akron.
