Saroyan Hardwoods Acquires Assets of Heppner Hardwoods

Saroyan Hardwoods has acquired the key production assets of Heppner Hardwoods. In addition, Brent Heppner, Mike Irish and many of the key Heppner production personnel will also join Saroyan Hardwoods. With this acquisition, these two manufacturers of architectural millwork and hardwood flooring in California will now operate as one.

Brent Heppner, with his extensive industry expertise and operations knowledge, is joining Saroyan’s senior management team. Mike Irish, Heppner’s top sales representative, will continue to sell hardwood flooring and architectural millwork to their diverse customer base.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the combination of these two great teams,” said John Saroyan, President & CEO of Saroyan Hardwoods. “We have long admired the work of Heppner and it is tremendous to be able to incorporate them into our Company. This should be wonderful for our integrated customer base and employees.”

Heppner was founded in 1978 by Barry Heppner. Their production facilities were located in Azusa, California. After Barry’s sudden death in 1991, Lorraine Heppner took the reins of the company as its new President & CEO. As its leader, Lorraine steered Heppner Hardwoods into the future. Ten years later, Brent Heppner joined the business. The only mother-son team to currently lead a major hardwood manufacturing company in the United States ultimately grew the business to new heights.

“We are pleased that our customers and key employees will have a new home with Saroyan Hardwoods,” said Lorraine Heppner. “The Saroyan family has a great reputation in the industry, and they will do a great job taking care of our loyal customers.”

Saroyan was founded in 1947 and has grown to be one of the premier value-added manufacturers and distributors of architectural-grade specialty hardwood products for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Their product portfolio includes engineered and solid hardwood flooring, mouldings, architectural plywood, and hardwood panels. Saroyan has a national footprint operating out of six locations in California and Kentucky.

“A majority of our hardwood floor customers are outside of California, while a majority of Heppner’s customers are within California,” added Saroyan.  “It’s a perfect match.”
