U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) has initiated a formal investigation under Title IV, Section 421 of the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act of 2015, commonly referred to as the Enforce and Protect Action (EAPA) into certain import transactions of several companies.
EAPA Cons. Case Number 7252, addresses Oliver Wong, CEO of Far East American Inc.; Shuning Xu, CEO of Ciel Group Inc.; John Bennett, CEO of American Pacific Plywood Inc.; David Stone/Matt McNichols of InterGlobal Forest; and J. Bradford Coors, CEO of Liberty Woods International Inc.
CBP will investigate whether the group of importers has been evading anti-dumping and countervailing duties on select hardwood plywood from China. According to the organization evidence establishes a reasonable suspicion that the importers have entered merchandise into the United States through evasion.
