NWFA Submits Official Comments on Petition Mandating Uniform Labeling on Floor Coverings

The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) submitted official comments on the petition to mandate a “Uniform Labeling Method for Traction of Floor Coverings, Floor Coverings With Coatings, and Treated Floor Coverings.”

In conjunction with other organizations, including the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the NWFA recommends that the proposed mandatory rule (83 FR 26228) be rejected by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

“As a trade association representing all facets of the wood flooring industry, we felt it was necessary to make official comments to share the negative impacts this rule could create for hard surface flooring and the misrepresentation of hard surfaces to the U.S. public at large,” says Michael Martin, NWFA President & CEO.
