Horizon Forest Products recently supported an event sponsored by T&T Creative. This event was held to raise funds for autism education in the local community. The T&T Bowling for Autism is an annual event designed to promote awareness and raise money for the autism classes at Rolesville Senior High School and Sycamore Creek Elementary School. Through these classes, students engage in a variety of enrichment activities to learn important life skills. The money raised at the Bowl-a-Thon directly supports the growing need to fund essential classroom technology, field trips, and supplies for the school year.

The demand for autism classes is increasing every year, but schools are not receiving any additional funding to support this need. The purpose of this event is to move towards closing that gap. Last year, the event organizers, along with T&T Creative, raised $2,000 and four (4) new iPads to the Rolesville High School autism class. This year, they doubled that! By matching the funds raised by Horizon and other local businesses, T&T Creative raised over $4,000 and eight (8) new iPads to the growing Rolesville Senior High School and the Sycamore Creek Elementary School autism classes.

T&T Creative hopes to expand the event in the coming years to assist all of the schools in Wake and Johnston counties. “Bowling for Autism is not possible without our sponsors,” said Derrick Thompson, CEO of T&T Creative Group. “We are so thankful that Horizon Forest Products continues to support this event by being a platinum sponsor. They have become so much more than a client to our company. They are a community partner that we rely on to make a difference.”

Staff members at Horizon Forest Products engaged in supporting activities, which included participation in the sponsor tournament Bowl-a-Thon. “We were delighted to meet Mrs. Gamsey, Mrs. Hoke and their students from Rolesville High School and Sycamore Creek Elementary,” said Holly Williams, Marketing Team Leader at Horizon Forest Products. “Community involvement is an important part of our mission at Horizon Forest Products, so we were pleased to have the opportunity to support a program that makes a difference in so many lives.”

Horizon Forest Products supports many causes throughout the year. The company welcomes donors and partners for causes that are consistent with the company’s vision.
