Fire Destroys Graf Brothers Flooring’s Warehouse

Graf Brothers Flooring recently released a statement that the company encountered a warehouse fire on the evening of December 30, 2017 that completely engulfed its 75,000 square foot warehouse.

The fire was contained to the lumber storage and trimmer line. There will be no impact to flooring customers; the company plans to continue to meet/exceed customer expectations for current and future flooring orders.

“We are very appreciative of the countless firefighters, volunteers, neighbors, friends, and family who worked tirelessly through the early morning hours. We were able to contain the fire and save the overwhelming majority of the South Shore plant. Everyone is safe and there were no injuries,” says Laura Mullins, Marketing Director.

“Graf Brothers Flooring and Lumber will remain steadfast to our goals and will continue to do business as usual. We will rebuild and continue to be the world’s largest manufacturer of rift & quartered products. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers during these trying times,” added Mullins.

  1. Fire is one of most destructive force which could destroy a warehouse within few second. So, suitable steps needs to be taken to prevent the warehouse from such destructive force and protect the commodities. The condition of different components used in the warehouse needs to be inspected properly at a regular interval and components have the potential to generate fire should be carefully used. Faulty electrical wiring system could generate fire. So, the condition of electrical wiring system needs to be inspected properly at a regular interval and if necessary should be replaced with suitable substitutes.
