Horizon Forest Products Sponsors the 9th Annual Tee-Off for the Troops Golf Classic

In partnership with Military Missions in Action (MMIA) and other local businesses, Horizon Forest Products is one of several sponsors of a golf tournament that is designed to raise money for veterans with disabilities, homeless veterans, and troops serving overseas.

MMIA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting America’s troops and helping veterans with disabilities live a better life. The primary focus of the organization is to provide home modifications that enable disabled veterans to live independently upon their return from duty. MMIA also provides home maintenance services to rectify safety hazards for veterans whose financial and physical situations prohibit them from being able to complete the maintenance needs themselves.

Efforts such as the annual fundraising golf tournament provide necessary resources that enable MMIA to provide services to veterans with disabilities. Last year, the 8th Annual Tee-Off for the Troops Golf Classic raised an amazing $93,095. According to representatives at MMIA, the continued success of the organization is only possible because of the loyal support it receives from its incredible sponsors and golfers.

As a sponsor for this event, Horizon Forest Products will engage in supporting activities, including participation in the tournament. “We are looking forward to helping our veterans who have sacrificed so much in service to our country,” said Holly Williams, Marketing Team Leader at Horizon Forest Products. “We hope that our support helps veterans overcome the barriers that stand between them and a better quality life.”

The tournament will take place on November 11 and 12, 2017 at the Bentwinds Country Club in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Opening Ceremonies for the 2017 Classic will include presentation of colors by a military color guard, singing of the national anthem, a 21-gun salute by a military honor guard, appearance by Miss North Carolina or her representative, remarks by a special guest, laying of a wreath for fallen soldiers, and recognition of special guests. All proceeds from the tournament will go directly to MMIA. To learn more, visit http://militarymissionsinaction.org/.
