NWFA has just announced that they are now accepting submissions for the 2018 Wood Floor of the Year awards. The NWFA’s Wood Floor of the Year (WFOY) awards were established in 1990 to help recognize and honor the high of level of craftsmanship that goes into each floor.
This years’ awards will include the same categories revealed last year. These categories include: Best Restoration/Makeover, Best Color & Finish Application, Best Circular/Curved Application, Best Parquetry/Inlay Application, and Best Textured Wood Application. Members will have the opportunity to vote for the Members’ Choice award, which will include all floors entered into the contest.
New this year, we will also award a Best of Social Media award. All floors entered in the contest will be eligible. The floors will then be featured on NWFA’s social channels, allowing followers to share, like, and comment on their favorite. The floor receiving the most engagement will receive this award.
Different than years’ past, all entries are due on November 30, 2017. This new deadline will aid in the NWFA’s efforts to continue making Wood Floor of the Year a prestigious award by allowing more time to correspond with winners prior to the public reveal during the 2018 NWFA Expo in Tampa, Florida. As always, the Members’ Choice award recipient will remain unnamed until the big reveal during the Opening Splash at NWFA Expo.
