First Mass Timber Building in the US Opening Soon

The seven-story, 220,000-square-foot T3 (Timber, Technology, Transit) office building in Minneapolis is scheduled to open later this month and will be the largest contemporary wood building in the U.S., according to Architect Magazine. A bulk of the wood is from Pacific Northwest trees killed by the mountain pine beetle, and is classified by the Minnesota building code as Type IV Heavy Timber.
