Canada Accused of Unfairly Subsidizing Lumber Exports

The U.S. Lumber Coalition recently received support from 41 US House Representatives to negotiate a new lumber agreement with Canada. The representatives recommend maintaining exports from Canada at or below current levels to offset inequitable government subsidies. Canada currently exports wood valued at $31 billion to more than 180 countries. Exports to the US are valued at $20.3 billion. More information is available here.
